I'm not mad, I have witnesses !

Occasionally, when I call (internally) our helpdesk number I get a ring on my phone, but it is faster that the usual one.

I've had a good dig round but cannot find any info - can anyone on here help ?

Thanks,

Roy

Roy what do you mean its faster?? Is the dial tone faster or the actual phone ring tone sound faster in tempo?

The ring tone I hear is normally ...

pause

ring

pause

ring

long pause

ring

whereas the fast ring I get is ...

ring

short pause

ring

pause

ring

short pause

ring

pause

Does that description make sense ?

Hi Roy,

Is your Helpdesk using IPCC or some other ACD type system? With IPCC there is no native ringback so an Audio file representing ringback is loaded against the Queue Script. This file may quite sound different than your normal internal ringback sounds.

So,you are not going mad :)

Hope this helps!

Rob

Hi Roy

When you get an external call - you get ring - pause - ring - long pause - ring - pause - ring.

Are you sure that you are not dialling from an external source to test or that your internal call is not tromboning through the system?

Muarrij

All our phones are IP internal.

We did not try dialling the problem number from external as the callers should be almost all internal.

The ring I meant was the ring we hear from the dialling phone not the receiving one.

Thanks,

Roy
