Re: Redundancy for CCM Express

Hi,there is a very good link at the CCO with testing scenarios with ccme. You can see serveral working solutions, take a look to the dual-router scenarios and ip routing redundancy.

Re: Redundancy for CCM Express

Hi,

With CME 4.0, there is now a "secondary" command underneath telephony-service that you can use for redundancy (requires 12.4(4)XC and higher)

Here is link with command reference:

Re: Redundancy for CCM Express

Just one more question:

Is there any way that we can have CCM server + CME setup. Phones will be registered with CCM server in normal scenario. If server fails, rather thatn having another ( subscriber) server, can we let phones to register with CME ( of course, with differant feature set than CCM server) ?

Re: Redundancy for CCM Express

There is a feature available in CME 4.0 where you can run CME in SRST mode. You still buy feature licenses for SRST and phone licenses for CCM. Under normal circumstances, phones will be registered to CM. When wan goes down, phones register to the router specified in SRST preference. The remote site router will have telephony-service command specified with SRST auto provisioning. Check this link for more details.

Re: Redundancy for CCM Express

I want do do small correction in my question. Actually CCM server and CME are in the same LAN segment ( not remote). Instead of buying two CCM server ( HW and SW) for redundancy, customer wants to see the possibility of fallback phones to local CME router. The router is actially a gateway router that customer anyway has to bu, so he want to add CME code to it to acieve basic redundancy. ( OF course you wil not be having all the CCM reafures but he needs basic calling funcitons in case of CCM server failure.)

Re: Redundancy for CCM Express

I am not sure if this is a supported deployment model, but i have seen several customer implementing callmanager at the main location with srst as backup. Dont see a reason why the same should not apply for CME in SRST mode.

Re: Redundancy for CCM Express

DO you have any idea how they are achieving local SRST router as backup for the CCM ?

Are they manualy configuring the secondary TFTP server address pointed to the SRST router for each and every phone ?

Re: Redundancy for CCM Express

All you need to do is create a SRST preference and specify that in the device pool for the phones in HQ.

Yes this is a supported configuration.
