Redundant CME and Gatekeeper

Is the gatekeeper capable of registering with redundant routers running CME. I am not able to register the redundant router with the gatekeeper b/c they have the same ID's on both the primary and backup. The gatekeeper keeps rejecting the redundant router. Is there a way around this?

Re: Redundant CME and Gatekeeper

First of all H323 Endpoints register with a GK.

The redundant CME is using this: H323ID ?

Are you using HSRP for both CMEs ?

Please clarify-

You may try use a different H323 for each CME

and configure different zones in GK

Re: Redundant CME and Gatekeeper

The issue that I am having is with the E164-ID. Because it is the same on both routers the gatekeeper is rejecting the registration of the second CME. The H323 ID is different for each router. As a temporary fix I had to use the no-reg command under each ephone-dn number.

I just loaded 12-4(11) and I was going to try the new backup CME feature. I'm not sure how or if it will work with HSRP and how it will work with the GK. If you have any detailed information that would help as well.

Thanks,
