remote access to cisco voicemail from a remote device

VOICEMAIL.jpg

Hi All,

I need a quick hand on the below mentioned issue .

The MD of our client's firm wants to access his cisco unity connection voicemail from his blackberry mobile phone, remotely

i explained the following procdeure to him for the same :

  1. Dial DID : +44 - XXX-XXX-XXXX
  2. When prompted for your ID, enter your extension followed by #.
  3. When prompted for your PIN, enter your password followed by #.

He said that he is not able to do the same :

The extension* has the last 7 digits of the DID correctly mentioned there. But still not working.

Can any one kindly let me know, what are the steps that i may b missing.

The user is London based . and the Cisco Unity Connection version: 7.0.2.10000-38

would appreciate any guidance on this.

To do this you need to do the ff:

1. You need to create a DN for the number you want dialled from outside

2. You then need to do a cfwdall to VM on that DN

3. In unity, you need to create a CH with the DN you created in cucm at its DN

4. Then go to the greetings of the CH, set it to play nothing (callers hear click nothing)

5. Set the after greeting action to conversation and select "sign in"

You can also define his mobile number as an alternate extension on his mailbox and this way he will not be prompted for user ID and just PIN.
