Does anyone know of a way to take remote control of a phone over the WAN ?
We are looking for a method to be able to access phones (7962, 7965 and 7975's) in remote locations with no local tech support. Does Cisco have a product to do this ?
Thanks in advance
Chris, thanks for the quick response !
I downloaded the trial from VoIP Integration (http://software.voipintegration.com/software.aspx) it's really quite slick, this is exactly what I was looking for.
You can also try Variphy or Unified FX. Here's a comparsion chart that I recently found.
Here is a more recent comparison of the different applications that offer remote phone control:
Here is the table for review:
Thanks Stephen. The chart you posted up misspelled Variphy and Clarus. How accurate is the chart compare to the INE chart?
I would say that statistically the chances of any chart being 'accurate' when it consists entirely of comparisons that present one product as the solution to everything and competitor products as feature-weak are probably around 50%.
However the chances of them being a balanced view of the market are around 10% as they have been weighted in favour of producer of the column with the aforementioned positively assessed product.
If that chart was posted by someone closely related to the vendor of the positively assessed product, then the chances of the information being useful are around 5%.
But then.. 90% of all statistics are made up on the spot.
Evaluate everything yourself.
I had the same problem and i found a good free tool to do that.
You can find a tool to have a Cisco IP Phone remote control at http://toip-tools.org/tools/remote-control-cisco-phone/ . The free tool is jphone and this is what i needed...
Hope it helps.
