Remote Site Design

Hello everyone,

A design question.  In a centralized CM environment with several remote sites around 20-100 users each but Remote Site D had about 500 users and not on VoIP yet.  The plan is to have a dedicated circuit (T1 maybe) from the large remote site to the central site but almost all calls will be going out PRIs at Remote Site D.  SRST is also needed at Remote Site D.  Given those numbers does it make sense to make Remote Site D a site off the existing CM or put a new cluster in place for Site D?

Thanks in advance.  All replies rated

Put it on existing cluster, 500 users does not warrant another cluster as that requires separate management, minimizes some feature availability across sites, etc.  Size your SRST GW properly, add local trunks and let phones use existing cluster and other existing applications, i.e voicemail.

No, a single 3945E router can provide 1500 phone support under SRST, and you can always use more than one router for SRST.

Thanks Chris.  I thought SRST could only go up to 240 phones.  Not correct?
