Remove leaving * from Voip Dial peer

We have an h323 gateway setup with a Voip dial peer that has a destination pattern that look like the following:

destination-pattern *61.. is there a way that I can remove the * before it sends the digits.

Yes, you can do this with a translation rule.

voice translation-rule 1

rule 1 /^*61/ /61/

voice translation-profile 1

translate called 1

dial-peer voice 1 voip

destination-pattern *61..

translation-profile outgoing 1

I had tried something like this and the router kicks back an error

rule 2 /^*61//61/ ?% *+ operand could be empty

Looks like it is treating the * like a wild card.

Sorry, * is a wildcard in translation rules. Try this:

rule 1 /^\*61/ /61/
