CUCM CUC IMP 11.5 I'm still somewhat noobish on things, but for a phone device, what does RCSS do ? I've read the description that mention Refer. Can anyone put it in more simplified terms ?  Thanks,

Hi there
Rerouting CSS is used for things like Mobility (Single Number Reach).
Let's say, When someone calls your office desk phone, say 2001, then this CSS is used to route the call your mobile cell device phone (Remote Destination on your RDP). Why this RCSS is used because the calling party might not have the CSS privilege to reach your mobile number.
Certain companies sends out all calls as one single number but they do have requirement to reroute the mobility calls with a different caller ID to mobile devices. Those cases Rerouting CSS allows to forward the calls through a different path/different route list awhich eases the outbound Caller id to be manipulated.

Hope this Helps
Cheers
Rath!

To add to what Ratheesh said, on a Single Number Reach Profile there are two Calling Search Spaces.

The first, the "Rerouting Calling Search Space", is used to determine to what external destinations an SNR call can be sent to. For instance, my enterprise DN may be able to call an international number, but the administrator may not want an SNR "remote destination" to be an international cell phone number.

The "Calling Search Space" is used for "mobile voice access" destinations. Which is when you can call in to an enterprise MVA number via the PSTN and ask CUCM to dial an outbound call on your behalf, where the callerID for the call is your enterprise DN.

On a Device -> Phone, does the Rerouting Calling Search Space get combined with the Line CSS when used for SNR in the way that regular Line/Device CSS or Primary/Secondary Forward All CSS does?

Or does it operate independently on the Phone page like it would on a Trunk?

Also, assuming that SUBSCRIBE CSS operates on its own?

Hi Ken,

No rerouting CSS is not combined. It only evaluates the partition to see if the rerouted destination is allowed.

Subscribe CSS is completely different..This is used for presence.
