Hello there
how is CCM 4.2(.3) resolving Caller Names or how do i make this feature to work?
If someone is ringing in, is there any possibility to check the (global) Directory for the number and displaying the Callers Name then?
Thanks in advance for any help
Martin

Cisco Unified CallManager Java Telephony Applications Programming Interface (JTAPI) uses the directory to determine which devices it can control and provides an interface method for getting the Media Access Control (MAC) address of the calling party, such as a user who is initiating the Cisco Extension Mobility Login.

If it's an internal call then the you will display what you have configured on the Alerting Name field and the Display (Internal Caller ID) field on the Line Configuration page.
If it's an external call then you must have this feature with your TELCO, he must send you this information, it sends the info either in Facility IE (you see an hexadecimal number in the GW debug) or in Display IE (you see the actual name in the debug). MGCP Gateways supports to have configured Facility IE or Display IE, but H.323 can only use Display IE.
