In the TFTP File Mgt there are ring tones listed that do not show up on the phone that you can select. How do you make them show up on the phone as one you can select.

Mojo, Is the issue that you cannot use custom ring tones you have made/uploaded? If you have modified ring tones or uploaded custom ring tones you will need to modify RingList.xml and upload this to the TFTP server.

Bill

We used to have CCM 3.3.5 and I uploaded custom ring tones amd modified the Ringlist.xml, this was in a windows box. We now have CCM 6.0.1 with a Linux Box so I can not easily change the Ringlist.xml. The Ringlist.xml is listed as one of the files but how do I get to it to make any changes on it. Do I upload the custom ring tones to the TFTP File Mgt and then modify the Ringlist.xml to have the ringtones show up on the phone? My question is how do I get to the Ringlist.xml to modify it?

Mojo,

If you have the Ringlist.xml from your 3.3.5 you may be able to use that file in step 3 (below). If not, then you should download the current ringlist.xml (step 1), edit, and then upload.

Step 1: upload

a. SSH to the CUCM host and logon with OS admin ID

b. at command prompt:file get tftp Ringlist.xml

c. Specify SFTP server to receive file (check out freeSSHd if you don't have a server)

d. provide information requested to upload

Step 2: edit

a. Edit the file Ringlist.xml to include the information for your custom ring tones (.raw) files

b. save file

Step 3: upload

a. Connect CUCM OS admin (https:///iptplatform)

b. logon with OS admin ID (same as for SSH session)

c. Go to Software Upgrade>Upload TFTP Server File

d. In the "File" box click on browse and search for the Ringlist.xml file you edited in step 2

e. Click on Upload File

To verify, you can go to the console of the server (SSH) and type the following command after logging on:

file view tftp Ringlist.xml

Hope that helps.

Regards,

Bill
