Rip Version 2 on Vg224

Hello,

I'm in the process of upgrading some VG224's in preparation to upgrading the CUCM cluster to 8.5 and after I upgrade the Vg224's, I am unable to use Rip v2. Customers network is running Rip v2(I know, who uses Rip v2), and are using both ethernet ports on the Vg for redundancy.

After the upgrade, I am able to enable Rip (router RIP), but from there I cannot add "Version 2". I do not want to change network as that does not fall under our contract, so was hoping this is something minor?

Old version of IOS: vg224-i6s-mz.124-15.T7.bin

New version: vg224-i6s-mz.151-3.T3.bin

Cheers!

Sometime cisco "forgets" or break things in new versions.

Contact the TAC and complain, they may know the problem already.

Just incase anyone else reads this, Cisco are removing routing protocols from the Vg series. They do not support any routing. Check out Bug id:CSCso08667.

Happy they remembered 2 ethernet ports for redundancy though...without the routing support....

Personally I dontt disagree with that decision.

In most cases, configuring both interfaces in bridge-group and BVI is enough for routing (oops tongueslip) going around a connecting switch failure.
