Route FXS port to dedicated FXO port

Hi,

I have a UC500 with CME7. There are 3 connected FXO ports and 1 FXS port as fax.

The IP phone does not have to dial a prefix for an outside line. The fax should always use the 3rd FXO port.

How can I configure a dial-peer / voice translation so that FXS port 0/0/0 always uses FXO port 0/1/3

without dialing a prefix like 9 or so.

Thx

Filip

Hi Filip,

You can use cor lists to do this, or you can use translation patterns.

The idea is for the fax machine to dial a normal number, the router will add a prefix for routing, match the appropriate dial peer, and then strip the prefix before sending it out. This is transparent to either end.

It would look something like this:

voice translation-rule 1

rule 1 /\(.*\)/ /9999\1/

voice translation-profile 1

translated called 1

dial-peer voice 1 pots

port 0/0/0

translation-profile incoming 1

dial-peer voice 2 pots

port 0/1/3

destination-pattern 9999.T

What happens:

Call from FXS hits dial peer 1, router adds 9999. Router searches for a dial peer that matches the 9999.* number, finds dial peer 2. On a pots dial peer, any number explicitly matches is stripped, so the number sent out is the original dialed number.

nick
