Route Inbound calls to Bogen (FXO)

I have a bogen PA sytem set up at one of our offices. I need to route calls from outside to this device. This is working fine from any internal call on the network.

Example: any phone on our cluster picks up and dial 8888, they get a tone then enter the zone 00 for whole building, 01 for first floor, etc.

There is no actual extension defined for this, just a route pattern 8888.[0-9][0-9]. I tried to build a call handler, but since it is not an actual extension

it goes to pre-recorded greeting ?

Do I have to set up a bogus extension, cti port ?

If this involves CUC, CUE, or Unity, you should start by mentioning what you have and version...

CUCM 8.0.3 and Unity 8.0.3.

Currently there is a call handler (Unity) on the main number that allows users to dial the extension they are looking for.

When I dial the 8888...Unity replies "I do not recognize that as a valid entry"

Since this is just a route pattern internally I'm not sure how to route it.

Re: Route Inbound calls to Bogen (FXO)

Set the Call Transfer option on your 8888 call handler to point to 8888 with the radio button selected for "Yes, ring this extension" Transfer type "Release to switch"

Re: Route Inbound calls to Bogen (FXO)

Tracy,

I tried set the call transfer option on the call handler. I worked with Cisco a bit and and still does not work. On the CUCM 8888 is not actually an extension...It is a route pattern with the Gateway FXO.

When I try to set a CTI port point it just loops.

Route Inbound calls to Bogen (FXO)

Hi William,

I think the first thing I would do is to see if Unity will

allow you to dial numbers without a mailbox that begin

with 8. If you create an actual DN on a test phone that was something

like 8880 can you dial it from the call handler? If not, then I would check

the Restriction tables.

On the Default System Transfer Restriction Table, when I want to transfer to extensions

that begin with 8 but are not part of Unity Connection I need to set;

8???* - Allow

If it was numbers that begin with 5 it would be;

5???* - Allow

Can you give that a try

Cheers!

Rob
