Routing incoming calls by area code

We are running CCM4.2(3) with VM and a 2651 acting as our voice gateway. My issue is that we have a few 800 numbers that hit different DID's. Is it possible to capture certain calls from particular area codes on one 800 number and route them to a different extension internally than the one the 800 number is currently hooked to?

I'm thinking that it could be done with dial peers and/or translations, but not 100% sure of the proper method.

Thanks for your help.

Use the answer-address to match calls using the ANI, and configure a translation-rule in that dial-peer for the called number to route it to wherever you want.
