RTP path with Exchange 2007 UM and UCM6?

In our IPT environment we have Cisco UCM6 Business Edition, Cisco 2800 series (Voice Gateway), and Microsoft Exchange 2007 UM (for Voicemail). The connection between UCM and the voice gateway is MGCP. The connection between the UCM and Exchange UM is SIP.

What should be the RTP path if the call flow goes to VM or Auto Attendant on the Exchange UM?

Is it between the Microsoft Exchange 2007 UM and a Cisco 2800 series Voice Gateway? Or is it going through Cisco UCM?

Just an FYI, I have disabled MTP on the SIP connection to Exchange UM.

Thank you!

Hi

It should be from Exchange to the GW. CUCM will normally only open RTP channel for MTP, Annunciator, CFB by software, or MOH.

But if it is not using MTP the RTP should always be end-point to end-point.

Thanks

Pedro
