SCCP CCM version command question

Hi All

Does anyone know what the version command actually does in the sccp ccm command

i.e "sccp ccm 1.1.1.1 identifier 1 priority 1 version 5.0.1" works perfectly with my CUCM 8.0, as does version 7.0 so what does it do?

SCCP version can change from version to version of CUCM, I don't think it changes that often, but that is the reason you define it on the other side (GW) so that proper SCCP version can be used between DSP profiles and CUCM. Here is interesting doc:

interesting doc indeed, it seems to indicate the lowest version of SCCP will be used when the ends dont agree. How significant that is to a cucm is not clear.

Not very significant when it comes to DSP farms at all, I never worried about it, just go with the most latest version applicable to you that you can. I.e. if you are running CUCM 8.6 but the IOS only gives option 7.0+ go with that one.

5.0 and above will work fine for all the Linux CUCM versions even v8.6

For earlier windows based CallManager use the matching number e.g v4.3

Could having a low version of 4.1 in the command but having version 9 of the cucm cause a fast busy signal from a remote site?
