Shared-line Appearance

Is it possible to set up the same DN on two separate phones as primary line. A user, who has two offices, would like to have a 7960 SCCP phone in each office using same DN number as primary line. CM version is 7.0

Yes, you just configure the number as the 1st line on the phone in the same partition as a shared line.  When one

phone rings, the other phone rings.

Hi

Yes, it is. Just assign the same DN and partition to the line on each phone, and both will simultaneously ring.

You may be better off considering using Extension Mobility if this type of scenario becomes common and the phone that is not being used is in an area where other staff might want to use it (or where the ring gets annoying if no one is there to answer it).

Is this setup (2 Phones share one DN as on Line1) called Shared-Line Appearance? If not, what is the proper term?

Thanks,

John
