SIP CUBE - Convert UDP > TCP

Cisco 2821

IOS 15.1(3)T

Trying to configure a Cisco 2821 to receive UDP SIP calls, then send them to a Lync server (which requires TCP). It has a working configuration and is also used for a SIP Trunk.

So I have added a dial-peer to send calls to the Lync Server, calls will match on the Dial-peer and route correctly if I leave the configuration for it as UDP. But if I set the Dial-peer to use TCP the calls stop routing to the Lync server. Running a dial-peer debug shows that the calls are still matching on the Dial-peer, but for some reason don't route.

dial-peer voice 210 voip

description Link to Lync

translation-profile outgoing Lync

preference 1

destination-pattern 164702

session protocol sipv2

session target ipv4:x.x.x.x

session transport tcp

voice-class codec 1

max-redirects 10

dtmf-relay rtp-nte

no vad

Let me know if you need anything cleared up. Voip ccapi debug is attached. Thanks in advance.

SIP CUBE - Convert UDP > TCP

Hi,

1. Can you pink Lync - do you have IP connectivity ?

2. What TCP port is Lync running on? You have 5060 configured.

3. Is there an establishedTCP connection ? You won't see any SIP traffic unless you have a connected TCP session.

"show tcp brief" should show a connection to the link server (look for ESTAB)

Incidently - I've found Lync works better if you re-write the dial peer like this - but only look at this once you have you TCP issue fixed:

dial-peer voice 210 voip

description Link to Lync

translation-profile outgoing Lync

preference 1

destination-pattern 164702

session protocol sipv2

session target dns:MyDominaGoesHere.com

voice-class sip outbound proxy ipv4:x.x.x.x:5060

session transport tcp

voice-class codec 1

max-redirects 10

dtmf-relay rtp-nte

no vad
