SIP to SIP call between cisco 9951 phones gets cut after 79 sec

I have looked in detail into the logs and here is what I have found...Your call is been disconnected due to OPTIONS ping issue. The 9951 IP Phone is not responding to the OPTIONS ping sent by the CCME and during an active call, CCME thinks the phone is not alive, it then tears down the call..

009773: Feb 10 09:38:02.457: //351807/80109254BB4D/SIP/Error/act_active_sent_options_wait_response: Out of retries

009774: Feb 10 09:38:02.457: //351807/80109254BB4D/SIP/Error/ccsip_handle_in_dialog_options_result: socket/dns/software error while trying to send the options - tear down call

009775: Feb 10 09:38:02.457: //351807/80109254BB4D/SIP/Info/ccsip_set_release_source_for_peer: ownCallId[351807], src[4]

The callid 351807 is the calleg from CCME to the 9951 SIP Phone.

It looks like your 9951 phones do not support OPTIONS ping or the firmware you are running doesnt support it. I suggest you disable options ping globally and leave the one on the dial-peer to your ITSP

voice service voip

sip

no options-ping 60

Test again

Re: SIP to SIP call between cisco 9951 phones gets cut after 79

Another thing that I noted is that you have not modified your sip try timers..Hence the reason why it took that long for the call to disconnect..The OPTIONS ping was sent 7 times (first OPTIONS + 6 retries). The default try is 6

Please change the default setting..as follows:

conf t

sip-ua

retry invite 2
timers trying 150

SIP to SIP call between cisco 9951 phones gets cut after 79 sec

Hi bern,

Is this happening for internal calling or over the wan?

Can you please share your call flow topology and detail trace from CUCM.

SIP to SIP call between cisco 9951 phones gets cut after 79 sec

Hi Nishant,

Even local calls. Extension to Extension.  It is happenning only on the 9951 phones.  the SCCP phones have no issues.  SCCP to SCCP = no issue SIP to SIP = call drops SCCP to SIP = call drop.

SIP to SIP call between cisco 9951 phones gets cut after 79 sec

Looking at the logs you posted, they are incomplete. Please add the following config to your router

conf t

service sequence-numbers
service timestamps debug datetime localtime msec
logging buffered 10000000 debug
no logging console
no logging monitor
default logging rate-limit
default logging queue-limit

Then..

debug ephone state

debug ccsip all

(such as Putty)

then do the ff:

terminal length 0
show logging

Attach the debug to the thread,,dont paste it please..
