SIP to SIP transfer to CUE fails with Codec ILBC

Natalie Ramirez

ip phone ----  CME ------ CME ---- ip phone --> Successful

ip phone ----  CME ------ CME ---- CUE --> Fail

If I change the Codec to G711ulaw, it works fine, successful on both.  But if I change it to ILBC, which I want to run on my excessivly low bandwidth WAN link, it fails when the call is forwarded to voice mail.  I have seen multiple questions that were answered with, just change to G711, and this fixes everyones issue.  I know G711 works, I want ILBC to work.

alright, however your issue seems to be with a transcoder, Check on the SITEB status of the show SCCP

TCP states?

Transcoding Oper State: ACTIVE_IN_PROGRESS - Cause Code: TCP_CONN_ERROR

Active Call Manager: NONE

on both CME run below command

# no sccp

#sccp

and check again the status of the xcoder? if possible i would sugesst try to re-configure xcoder fro scratch.

use this as reference for configuration for transcoder

Hello Clark,

CUE by default works on G711 codec, that's why it works for you when you change the codec.

Do you have a xcoder configured to stream one audio to another?

I think I configured the xcoder correctly, see below, IP address listed is the IP address of the router local interface, is it supposed to be the IP address of the CUE?

Hello Clark

Here is the issue, Your xcoder is not working due to TCP connection is not established and error, due to which xcoder is not getting invoked and calls are getting failed due to codec mismatch as no one there to stream the audio from one to another.

Where is CUE is located is it on SITEA or SITEB?

Each site has its own CUE.  They are not sharing.

alright, however your issue seems to be with a transcoder, Check on the SITEB status of the show SCCP

You were right, improperly configured the transcoder.  I checked the web link you provided, but it was a little difficult to understand, so I searched for transcoder configurations and found this one:

https://supportforums.cisco.com/thread/290915

Dropped this on the routers and everything popped up working with no issues.   Thanks again for your help.

Perfect Clark , Glad to hear that :-)
