SIP trunk incoming and outgoing calls issue

Hi Everyone,

We recently installad a SIP trunk and terminated on CUBE and CUCM but we have issues on incoming and outgoing calls, When someone dial in from outside he keeps listening the dailing ring even after we pick up the phone and at the end the callers time exipres and call gets disconnected.

For Dailing out, the dialed number rings and caller hear the dailing ring as well but if someone pick the phone it apprears that call is connected but no audio in it, dead air.

Our call flow is as

IP Phones => CUCM --->SIPTRUNK--->CUBE=>SIPTRUNK=>SP

I have attached the config for CUBE and debug ccsip messages output for both incoming and outgoing calls.

Please if some help in sorting out this issue, Thanks in Advance

Tasneem

Re: SIP trunk incoming and outgoing calls issue

could you please configure the below commands under 'voice service voip> sip' and check the behaviour?

  header-passing

  error-passthru

  asymmetric payload full

  midcall-signaling passthru

For the Inbound call from ITSP to CUCM, the CUCM sends 200 OK message to CUBE once the call is answered but the CUBE not passing the message to ITSP.

ITSP--->EO_SIP--->CUBE---EO_SIP--->CUCM

It seems the ITSP doing EO, so CUBE has to accept the call with one codec. configure inbound dial-peer from ITSP to CUBE with voice class codec containing only G711-Ulaw ((no early-offer forced required))

configure outbound dial-peer from CUBE to CUCM with same voice class codec above and also voice-class sip early-offer forced.

Similarly for outbound call, when the call is answered, CUBE receives 200 OK from ITSP and forwarded to CUCM. However CUCM doesn't respond with ACK

CUCM--->DO_SIP---->CUBE----DO_SIP---->ITSP

reconfigure inbound dialpeer from CUCM to CUBE with voice-class sip early-offer forced & voice class codec containing only G711-Ulaw, configure Outbound dial-peer from CUBE to ITSP with voice class codec containing only G711-Ulaw (no early-offer forced required).

let me know how it works after the changes please.

Re: SIP trunk incoming and outgoing calls issue

Inbound call>>>>

The reason you are experiencing this is that your CUBE is requesting PRACK and your provider is not responding to it..

Here we have your cube sending 180 ringing with "Require 100rel"..This was sent several times and your ITSP didnt respond probably because they do not support 100rel...(It is Huwaei after all, they do what they like)

Outbound calls>>>>

CUCM is not responding with an ACK to the 200 OK as mentioned by Suresh...It is diffuclt to know why without looking at cucm traces...My first guess will be to check the region settins between your IP phones and the sip trunk...Your dial-peer to cucm is configured for G711, is  the region set to G711 or G729? if it is G729, do you have a xcoder?

SIP trunk incoming and outgoing calls issue

The soultion that have been recommended  by Suresh have actually fixed the issue for both incoming and outgoing calls (thanks Suresh).

There is one more thing that I want to ask, this CUBE and all of our users ectensions are located on one geographic

locations and they break out to PSTN using SIP trunk but these extensions are managed by CUCM which is at a diffrent physical location but is reachable via VPN tunnel. The question that i want to ask , is it possible to configure that CUBE router for SRST as well so that when the VPN is down, the extensions can stay regestered to local CUBE router using SCCP and can talk to each ohter and can make PSTN calls over SIP trunk?

SIP trunk incoming and outgoing calls issue

Hi,

Good to know the issues are fixed.

Q13: Will SRST work on CUBE ?

A: Yes, SRST and CUBE can be co-located on the same router.

https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-17964#Q13_Will_SRST_work_on_CUBE_

And you need SRST licensing for this.
