I have a Cisco ATA 186 that was configured and working fine until yesterday. Now the ACT light is solid green...even when the network cable is unplugged. It will not display a link light on switch where it is connected...is it just dead? If you have any experience with this type of issue...any guidance would be appreciated.
Being that you've had this problem for several months now, you may not need the answer. But, I had this same issue and got it worked out. On a 186, the green activity light is meant to be on while the unit is powered and blink during activity. On my unit, I knew it was healthy because the voce menu worked when I pressed the feature button. It could tell me the version of code it was running and everythig. I fnally hard set the speed and duplex on the port it was plugged into on the switch and it came up. I guess these things can't auto detect speed and duplex.
