SRE -> CUE 8.6.6 -> not reachable only from router

Hi,

i have a strange issue with a CUE module. Its a SRE 710. If i configure the following i can reach the CUE module from internal clients:

interface Loopback0

description "CUE TESTING TEMP"

ip address 192.168.20.1 255.255.255.0

end

!

interface SM1/0

description Unity-Express-Module

ip unnumbered GigabitEthernet0/0

ip virtual-reassembly in

service-module ip address 192.168.20.10 255.255.255.0

!Application: CUE Running on SM

service-module ip default-gateway 192.168.20.1

end

But if use the gi0/0 as unnumbered its not working

interface GigabitEthernet0/0

ip address 10.224.0.251 255.255.255.0

ip virtual-reassembly in (tried without)

duplex auto

speed auto

end

!

interface SM1/0

description Unity-Express-Module

ip unnumbered GigabitEthernet0/0

ip virtual-reassembly in

service-module ip address 10.224.0.249 255.255.255.0

!Application: CUE Running on SM

service-module ip default-gateway 10.224.0.251 (or def gw)

end

I have tried to reload the module and also the router. No success. Only with looback. But i need to do it with the same subnet as router. Any suggestions?

Regards

Thorsten

SRE -> CUE 8.6.6 -> not reachable only from router

Hi,

Well, most of the time this issue is related to routing. Does the default gateway of the network knows that ip

10.224.0.249/24 is reachable behind 10.224.0.251/24?

You could setup a static route:  ip route 10.224.0.249 255.255.255.255 10.224.0.251, and this is just an example.

There migth be several reasons for the issue, but I'll first look at routing.

Tthorstenn,

Here's the bug ID for the problem

CSCuh87899 : IP connectivity lost with the SRE Module after upgrading IOS to 15.3(2)T

Now is just a matter of time...

For now you can move away from that IOS, in order to not be affected for the defect.
