SRST PROBLEM

Hi Guys,

Need a solution for the following. Not sure whether it is possible or not.

We are going to migrate to new mpls could and currently we are running voip. In future the ISP will manage the routers in our offices and we do not have any control in the future. The problem is we are running voip. We want to have two routers one managed by isp and other one managed by us. The isp router will not have any connection to pstn. Only the router managed by us will have connection to pstn. The question is if the wan fails how the second router will know the wan is down and srst will kick in.

Hi,

It's no problem.. if your voice router / gateway is running SRST it will decide to fall over to SRST when it cant contact your CallManager servers.

Hence if the WAN router in front is down.. your voice router wont be able to see CCM and SRST will kick in.

Cheers,

Tim.
