SRST testing at remote site...

Hi -

I would like to test SRST at a remote site using an access-list to block all traffic to back to the CUCM and force SRST at the site...The Voice Gateway is separate to the main WAN router so I propose to put the following access list on the uplink of the Core switch to the WAN router in the OUT direction...

ip access-list extended SRST

Deny ip any host 10.10.10.1   (CUCM 1)

Deny ip any host 10.10.10.2   (CUCM 2)

Permit Ip any any

interface <uplink from main switch to WAN router>

ip access-group SRST out

Does seem correct and will it force the gateway into SRST mode along with the phones? Is there something else I need to block, maybe block signalling that is coming inbound from CUCM?

Thanks

I'd also do something similar for ingress from CUCM 1 and 2. But your general approach is sound (assuming the packets flow through the target SVI or L3 interface) and I do it that way all of the time.
