Status of SIP trunk

Hello,

I've got a CUBE router running 15.1(4).  It's a DR router, with one connection to our ITSP, and trunks back to our CUCM environment.

Since it's DR, it has no active calls.

But how can I check the status of the SIP trunks, to make sure our link to our ITSP (Verizon) is up?  I found this great document, but it's just about active calls https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-29194

Bill,

OPTIONS ping will more suitable for you, as it will not only test connectivity but also the SIP sesssion itself. Check this document
