I'm installing a new T1 card (HWIC-1CE1T1-PRI) to a Cisco IP-PBX 2821 (CME running on it).
I did install it to HWIC 0 slot(have nothing on HWIC 1, 2 or 3).
It doesn't seem the cisco 2821 is recognizing it. When i do show int, i only see gi0/0 & gi0/1.
Do i need to pass some commands to make the router recognize the card?
I can't pass controller t1 command..

What the output of the "show diag" command shows?
Do you have any DSP module installed? Sometimes without the DSP (PVDM) modules, the T1 card won't show up in the system config.

As i know there is no DSP module installed. How can you tell if there is DSP module installed?
An if there is no one, what do suggest for solution?

Again, "show diag" command will tell you the detail about the installed hardwares. Post the output of the follwoing command:
router# show diag

I see you have DSPs but your T1 is not detected. Can you post the output of the "show version"?
As paolo mentionned, you need to upgrade the IOS to the latest.

You need a very recent IOS for the card to be recognized.
Also configure, card type T1 0.

Paolo,
Cisco IOS Software, 2800 Software (C2800NM-SPSERVICESK9-M), Version 12.4(9)T7, R
ELEASE SOFTWARE (fc3)
version 12.4 shouldn't be enough for the card to be recognized?
03-10-2009 08:16 AM
12.4 should be more than enough to detect the T1 card. Followings are the latest versions for your router. The first is an Early Deployment(ED)and the second one is the Maintenance Deployment (MD). I recommand the MD version. If this does not help, you may want to open a TAC case with Cisco.

I go to this link on cisco website :
it doesn't seem that cisco 2821 has any of the IOS versions you posted
03-10-2009 11:19 AM
Here's the link but I don't understand why it doesn't show any of them.
Does the output of the "show running config" shows the command Eldho posted?
card type t1 0 0
router# conf t
router# card type t1 0 0
