We have a call that comes into the "Main Office" g711. This call is transfered to the branch and transcoded on the the Main office router to g729. This call completes without issue. If the call has to transfered back to the "Main Office", one way audio occurs. The Ip phone user can't hear the pstn caller, but the pstn caller can hear the ip phone user. Routing appears to be good between all locations. I have changed the region for the branch to g711 to remove the need for the the transcoder and everything works fine. What could be the issue that would cause one way audio on a call the should now be released from the transcoder, which after the transfer a show sccp connections on the Main office shows nothing, therefore the transcoder is out of the call.
Have you verified the router providing the resources for transcoding? If you have more than 1 transcoding resources, try changing the order in your Hardware MRG, to verify that the issue is not from a specific device.
Yes we are binding the h323 interface to the voice vlan.
encapsulation dot1Q 100
ip address 10.17.142.65 255.255.255.192
h323-gateway voip bind srcaddr 10.17.142.65
H323 gw call comes in PRI, dialpeer specifies codec g711, call is answered @ same locations as PRI/GW, no transcoding takes place. Call is transfered to branch phone (all phones registered to same cluster), call is trancoded on H323 gw to g729 and calls completes with 2 way audio. If call is transfered back to branch where it landed originally 1 way audio occurs. PSTN caller can hear the IP phone user but no audio from PSTN to IP phone.
