Transcoding Resources

Hi,

I configured transcoding using dsp resources on a 2800 series router and place the xcoder resource in a media resource group on callmanager7.

I then placed it into a MRGL for use.

With conference bridge resources I found out that I can use the resource from a non local router.

For example, I can place the mgrl that contains conference resources of the HQ router for use on the phone of a remote site.

However, I could not use remote xcoder resources to do transcoding on a local router.

Did I do something wrong or is this not suppose to work ?

How are you testing transcoding?

Which devices you are trying to connect and which codecs they support?

Which codecs the transcoder is configured to use?

Devices are using the MRGL which the xcoder is included?

xcoder is registered?
