translation pattern urgent priority

Hello:

call manager is 6.1

we have 10-digit phones and allow 4-digit dialing intra-site.

[6-7]xxx translation pattern that adds the first 6-digits - 201930.

we are attempting to allow these users to dial from Corp Directory w/o edit dial.

But the remote site numbers start with 608203xxxx.

So as soon as 6082 is dialed, the above trans pattern sends call to 2019306082.

we can fine tune the 4-10 digit translation patterns & filter out the 6082 but then users will not be able to 4-digit dial 6082 phone.

Is there a way to keep this working w/o using translation pattern & its urgent priority?

thanks

Rob

Re: translation pattern urgent priority

The SRND recommends using an inter-site access code for exactly this type of reason. Another option would be to not use the full 10-digit but that also becomes a fine line of how many digits (five, six, etc) are globally unique.

Just an FYI in case you're upgrading soon, this can be done in 7.X and above as you can uncheck the urgent priority.
