translation pattern

later to my previous post in a related regard..also how , when to use and what scenarios does th Translation Patterns help? when i need to use them?

and what is the differences between trans patterns and other transformations that make translation pattern to hold a position as a seperate option under route plan submenu ?!

When you dial a digit callmanager is collecting those digits and performing a check for a matching pattern in the systems. DN's, translation patterns and route patterns all fall in a single pool against which callmanager performs this check.

Translation patterns are special. They are used for digit manipulation. If a match is found against the digit you dial with a translation pattern, the translation specified in the pattern is performed and the dialed digits go through a digit analysis for a second round.
