Translation Rules -Internal

Hello and thanks for reading my post and thanks in advance for helping.

We have a CallManager cluster that needs the following attention

Hello. We have two groups of users:

Group A; extension: 100-300

Group B; extension: 301-799

There will be two helpdesks, one for each group, extension 901 for group A, and extension 902 for group B.

But this will be transparent to users of both group as they are going to dial 900 and be redirected according to their group membership, ie: If a user from group A dials 900, he will be redirected to extension 901, and users from B will be redirected to 902.

I think that is done via a translation-rule on the CallManager, I have tried one, but it does not seem to work.

Please help

Thank you

Re: Translation Rules -Internal

If it is not working, chances are that your partitions are incorrect.

Yes it can be done by translation rule as long as everything is in the correct partition. What setup have you for partitions and CSS?

For example, to work you would need

GroupA phone - Partition PT_Internal_GroupA

GroupB phone - Partition PT_Internal_GroupB

Translation A - translate 900 to 901 and place it in PT_Internal_GroupA

Translation B - translate 900 to 902 and place it in PT_Internal_GroupB

Helpdesk Phone A and B - Partition PT_Internal_All

You will need to match your CSSs to accommodate these partitions

Re: Translation Rules -Internal

I think this is the way to do it.

Righht now, both groups are in the same Partition.

As soon as I am on-site will do the test with both groups on differrent partitions.

Will update as soon as possible.

Thank you again for the hint.
