Trying to SPAN a Cisco SIP Phone

Hello

We are having a problem with a Cisco 9971 SIP Phone which keeps re-registering with the Call Manager every 15 minutes and displaying to the user the fact its doing this.

I am trying to SPAN the port and run a wireshark but so far we don't seem to be getting many packets from the phone and the ones we are getting seem to be egress only.

Phone Port is the SPAN Source

Linux box is the SPAN destination.

Phone port configured as:

Interface Gi1/0/22

     Switchport mode access

     Switchport access vlan [x]

     Switchport voice vlan [x]

     spanning-tree portfast.

Is there anything I should be aware of when trying to SPAN a SIP phone?

The phone does not have a PC plugged in FYI.

Thanks

Just make sure, you do "mon sess 1 source int g1/0/22 both" to capture traffic both ways.

Works a charm for me.
