TVS port is 0 - lot of issues

Hi,

Since my last CUCM cluster restart I've somme issues on services.

- Corporate Directory = Host Not Found

- http://phone_ip_address/CGI/Screenshot leads sometimes to CiscoIPPhoneError Number="4"  (authentication) , despite the application user is normally allowed to access it. For some phones it works , with other no.

- Phone service Extension Mobility, provided on the user profile, now answers "Login is unavailable(210)" instead of offering the logout option.

Analysing my SEP.cnf.xml file, I found out this strange TVS config. Normally should be 2445.

Where ipadress_sub1 and ipadress_sub1 are the servers running Call Manager Service, they're not the Publisher.

Moreover we can see Authetication URL is empty

IP phones can download their cnf.xml file but due to the fact that authentication url is empty, this issue occurs.
Some phones have no issue, and looking at their web interface -> network setup we can see this url with the standard value.
There is also no BLF presence into the call history as usual.

Detail : CUCM is 8.6, phones are 8945 with latest fw

I've read that IT could be linked to TVS, but which one as I'm running a 6 server cluster with dedicated TFTPs, dedicated Call Managers, Pub running only services that the others cannot.

There was an issue with database replication. 

Phones are unable to validate certificates with TVS. Processconfig table is missing TVS port number.

You can run the following command on all your TFTP servers where your phones are grabbing their config if the TVS values are missing.

 

run sql select processnode.name, processconfig.paramname, processconfig.paramvalue from processnode, processconfig where processnode.pkid = processconfig.fkprocessnode and (processconfig.paramname = 'URLAuthentication' or processconfig.paramname = 'SecureAuthenticationURL' or processconfig.paramname = 'TVSPort')

 

Should look like this

You can restart TVS services as a first step and check status with the previous command

And if it does not solve your issue look at you database status of your cluster :

utils dbreplication status

If there are mismatches, do a repair from the Pub (out of heavy prod hours)

utils dbreplication repair all

Thank you for the very interesting details. I checked the config file from the TFTP server and it does not contain TVS entries for the models 6900 and 8900. It does for the 7900. That explains why we have the issue on some models and not on others.

 

I opened a TAC case because the dbreplication is fine in my cluster, so the issue is probably somewhere else. The BU is looking for a root cause.
