UC560 - Emergency or Site Closure Message

rln

Level 1

Hi All,

We have recently implemented a Cisco UC560. We have setup an auto attendant among other things successfully.

I would like to know if there is a fairly easy way to put emergency or closure messages on the auto attendant. For example if we are closed due to bad weather etc... without having to go in and change lots of config. We will of course have .wav files pre-recorded and ready.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Regards,

Richard

Hi Richard,

I think the AVT from the lab is what you want

(527.8 K)

and this set of labs;

Hi Rob,

This is really useful - thanks.

But can this only be done from an extension connected to the UC or rung in from an external phone?

......But, at this stage I don't need a user to be able to do this just yet, I just need to do it myself via CCA or via the web interface for the UC.

Is it actually as simple as changing the sound file loaded for day and the one for night? Or is there a better way to be doing it?

Richard

Hi Richard,

I prefer phone just in case I don't have access due to circumstances

(I might be at the bar ) but you can also do it as simply as you noted

by temporarily replacing the Night or Day greeting files. You might also

check into the Alternate Greeting tweak mentioned in the lab

Cheers!

Hi Rob,

I had a go with the AvT and setup the extension to call in to. It worked and I got the options to record a alternate message. But when I then called the switchboard auto attendant it did not seem to have applied. Going to have another go in a bit but should it just be that simple?

Hi Richard,

If it's not playing you need to look at the aa.script versioning

as discussed in this good thread

https://supportforums.cisco.com/thread/2122092

Cheers!

Hi Rob,

Looks like that might be it, I have the V03 script by the looks of it. Have you changed yours before? Any pointers?

I assume its a simple upload and reset option buttons if required? Do the open/closed sound files stay the same along with everything else?

Regards,

Richard

Hi Rob,

Also further to my last post, if I look at the drop downs for the scripts it looks like I have a 04 one there as well. See attached acreen shot.

Richard

Hi Richard,

Unfortunately I don't have a uc5xx box in the lab right now to

do any testing of this to try & help you further. Why don't you go ahead and

move the whole thread over to the uc500 section of the forums

https://supportforums.cisco.com/community/netpro/small-business/voiceandconferencing/sbcs-uc500

There are some great peeps there that can verify the steps for you.

Apologies Rob.

I didn't realise this was the wrong forum.

I have however in the interim logged a case with support to look at amending my script and to take some further advice.

Thanks again for all your help!

Regards,

Richard

Hey Richard,

No worries my friend There is no such thing

as the right or wrong areas here @ CSC as everyone

is only here to help.

Cheers! And best of luck getting this set up (snow days are coming...at least here)
