UCM 4.23 to 7.1.5 Test Migration- Any Gotchas from Experience ?
We are going to perform a test migration from our 4.2.3 UCM to 7.1.5 this sunday.
The purpose of this upgrade is to test 7.1.5 during a maintenance window (in production) record all the results from the acceptance testing plan then put the 4.2.3 back in production. Once we think we have all the issues that may have failed during acceptance worked out , we will re-schedule the actual cutover
We have been engaged with the UC migration team and have completed all of the Pre-migration tasks
We have new hardware for the test 1 pub and 2 subs, they have been loaded already, licenses valid etc
basically we will shut down the 4.2.3 switchports and no shut the ports of the 3 new servers (same Ip addresses)
After testing we will switch back to 4.2.3
If anyone out ther has some experience doign this type of migration, I would love to hear about any advice you may have.
