Understanding AAR Group

I wanted to get a better understanding on the way AAR will work with various call routing scenarios.

1. Does the AAR group apply to outbound calls from a calling device that has reached its locations limit or will AAR group also be invoked if a remote site rejects a call because its locations has been exceeded.

2. If you are calling from phone out a H323 gateway and the location on the gateway is exceeded does the AAR group assigned to the gateway tell call manager to apply the AAR group prefix and try to then route the call via an alternate path, I cannot see how call manager can use the AAR group for inbound calls from the gateway it can only reject the call hence the AAR group when applied to H323 gateway is applying to outbound calls from call manager to the gateway and not inbound calls from the gateway where if the location for the gateway is exceeded and the inbound call comes into the call manager it can only send call reject to the gateway and the gateway will try to re route via an alternate dial peer.

AAR supports the following call scenarios for insufficient bandwidth:

Call originates from a line or directory number (DN) of an IP phone within one location and terminates to a line or DN of another IP phone within another location. This scenario includes calls that terminate at the shared line with terminating IP phone devices that are resident in multiple locations and calls that terminate at the Cisco voice-mail port.

Incoming call through a gateway device within one location terminates to a line or DN of an IP phone within another location. This scenario includes calls that terminate at the shared line with terminating IP phone devices that are resident in multiple locations and calls that terminate at the Cisco voice-mail port.
