Unity 7 installation

Hi All,

I'll be installing a new unity server release 7 next week but the environment does not include any domain controllers or exchange server. Is it possible to install it and run the auto-attendant feature without them? And if the decided later to install an active directory and an exchange server, should I have to reinstall the Unity server from scratch?

Thanks

Samer

With Unity, you must have a Domain Controller and an Exchange Server. There

is no way around that. However, it is permitted to configure the Unity

server as the Domain Controller and Exchange server.

Check this link first:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/unity/7x/redirect/7xinstallupg

radeinfo.html

Then, I believe the install guide you are interested in is here:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/unity/5x/installation/guide/vm

exnofo/5xcuigvmenofox.html

Read the guide before doing anything and build an implementation plan.

There are ways to add an external DC and Exchange server. It is usually

better to start with an external DC/Exchange day one and then expand to

failover or even upgrade to UM. That being said, there are tools and

methods available to add the DC/Exchange later.

HTH.

Bill

Samer, Unity = Exchange/AD dependencies, period. You cannot install without having some form of AD/Exchange (or up until 8x Lotus/Domino) in place.  If you do not have this infrastructure, you should be installing Unity Connection.
