Unity Attempt to Sign In vs. Sign In

I am running 4.0.5 Unity. I have a backdoor DID that is used for users to check their vm from outside.

I would like to enable alternate extensions on some users, so that when calling from their cell phone, they go straight to the password prompt instead of having to input their user ID and password.

I have a CTI route point, forwarded to Unity, and a "Forwarded Calls" call routing rule set up with that DNIS of the CTI RP. Under "send call to", I have the Sign IN option selected.

With this scenario, I can not get alternate extensions to work. If I select "Attempt Sign-In" instead of sign in, the Alternate Extension work as desired, but caller without AE's get the standard opening greeting.

Please advise.
