Is there a limit for the number of recipients for a broadcast message?

depends on how you define broadcast....

Really has no limit. If the admin sends out a message, it will go to all. (cant find any document to support my statement, I'll keep digging though)
If you are using a public distrubtion group, there is all no limit.
On a private list: it's 999
