Hi,

Please can anyone explain the call routing rules in Unity Connection.Below is my understanding of call routing rules.

Direct Routing Rules.

Rule 1:Attempt sign-in:Applied to any calls which are directly dailed into the CUC and the user has the mailbox.--Sends the caller to conversation-Attempt-sign-in.

Rule 2:Opening greeting:Applied to any calls which are directly dailed into CUC but doenst have a mailbox---Send the caller to opening greeting call handler.

Forwarding Routing Rules.

Rule 1:Attempt Forward:Applied to any forwarded call from the CUCM to CUC,if the re-directing number has a mailbox on the CUC--sends the call to conversation--Attempt Forward.

Rule 2:Opening Greeting:Applied for any call which are forearded by CUCM and the redirecting extension doesnt have the mailbox on CUC.

CUC--send the call to opening-greeting call handler ---attempt transfer.

I want to understand the meaning of conversation and attempt transfer.

Moreover when do the transfer rules on the call handler itseelf are applied.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks

Call routing rules are only applied to call coming into CUC from the phone system, either direct (you call the VM pilot) or FW (someone else direct you to VM). These do not affect the routing once you're already in CUC.

Conversation (hi, this is John Doe bla bla bla)

Attempt transfer is ruled by the transfer options from EACH subscriber either to ring their phone, direct them to VM, or send them to any other number they like.
