Unity Connection - Large Deployments

Greetings,

We have many customers looking into upgrading their existing Voicemail deployments from Unity to Unity Connection.

We are looking for advice from the NetPros as to what we may expect in such transitions.

How does UC perform?

How useful is the COBRAS tool in the transition.

How does Active/Active really work?

Any other advice / gotchas would be greatly appreciated.

Hi!

I've heard about migrations from Unity to Unity Connection using COBRAS and they worked fine.

For example, if you have 5000 users , the import process can take up to 4 hours aprox.

I will recommend you to check the COBRAS overview at along with the supported migration versions.

Hi Larry,

We have been working with UC 7.x for a while now and have found that it has really lived up to it's Great reputation! The Active-Active design capabilities work flawlessly. All tests that were performed in the attached doc passed with flying colors.

Cheers!

Rob

I concur with my peers here, however make sure you read the help file for COBRAS to find out what gets migrated. There is a big list of items that do not, i.e. COS, user templates, etc which means that you will need to build these manually.

Active-Active UCON solution works as advertised.
