Hi,
I have an NME-CUE with Unity Express 7.1.5. Installed were 5 VMIVR-VM-MBX (L-FL-CUE-MBX-5) licenses. These licenses were working fine. No evaluation mailbox licenses active.
I installed another 15 VMIVR-VM-MBX (3x5 L-FL-CUE-MBX-5 in one .lic file) licenses with the "license install ftp://xxxxxx" command (used this guide). The installation was successful. I reloaded the module, expecting to use the licenses, but I am getting an "max mailboxes exist" error when trying to create more than 5 mailboxes.
According to the following show commands the expected amount of licenses seem to be installed (5+15=20):
NME-CUE# show ver

However only 5 seem to be recognized:

ivr disabled, no activated ivr session license available

What does this mean? Have I missed something? Would be grateful for some advice.

Hi there,
License state/count looks good....pl. see if activating it via following CLI helps
(may need a reload)
CUE# license activate voicemail mailboxes 15
If not, then check the size of existing mboxes.
HTH.

Hi,
Thank you for the quick reply.
After installing the licenses I got an "max mailbox size" error when trying to create mailboxes. I decreased the mailbox size of all 5 installed mailboxes from 216000 seconds to 7200 seconds, and did a reload. This did not change anything, except the error, which was now "max mailboxes exist" when trying to configure more mailboxes.
I then tried the command you recommended "license activate voicemail mailboxes 15", which I thought was only relevant for activating evaluation licenses. After a reaload 20/15 mailboxed were enabled. I tried the command "license activate voicemail mailboxes 20", and after a reload all 20/20 mailboxes were enabled. I can also now configure more than 5 mailboxes.

NME-CUE#
Am I correct in assuming that the licenses were not activated after installing them, because there was insufficient mailbox storage space (300hours available on NME-CUE, but 216000sec x 20=1200hours)? Do you know of cisco docs where this behavior is explained?
Thank you for your help!
Ingo

You are welcome....glad it worked!
Hmm, u had left out the critical detail about mbox size error
in your initial post but I think that is the reason why 15 additional mobex
did not activate post new license install and reload.Pl. review some
good info in this old but useful doc on mbox sizing:
