Hi,
The transactional logs for the Unity report DB are increasing incredibly knowing that all generated reports have been completed (no queued reports).
It reaches 61 GB whereas report db (the actual DB) is 3MB only(Strange case).
Is there any non report related data which affects on the report db and its transactional log file?
what kind of jobs or data which may affect like this way ?
Also I have shrink this log file but unfortunatly it is being freed with 250MB only.
I appreciated your help.
Many Thanks,
Mo

Hi Mo,
It sounds like your new logs are not overwriting your existing files.
Good info from Jorge, Ginger and others;
Good info from Unity Master Jeff;
Hope this helps!

Thanks Rob for your fast response.
the description for the warning event is as follows : "Autogrow of file 'ReportDb_log'in database 'ReportDb' took 123097 millisec. Consider using ALTER DATABASE to set a smaller FILEGROWTH for this file".
I have backed up the log file (64GB) and truncated twice a time, hence the physical size for the log file is decreased to 15 MB.
is this growing normal ? what do you think the cause for this ? I doubt it relates to generating report only.
what do you think ?
thanks Rob,
Mo
