I am getting ready to migrate a customer from one unity box to another then upgrade. I did this process a few months a go and ran into some issues and wanted to make sure i did not run into them again.
This customer is running Unity 4.04 sr1 (unified messaging)
they are going to version 7
I was planning on loading the new server to 4.04 sr 1, using the dirt tool to restore then upgrading the box to 7.
When i did this before, i remember working with tac the night of the cutover after some issues and we ended up upgrading their old box to 4.05 or 4.2 first then doing the restore. I have searched through my emails etc, but cannot remember why we had to do this to get it to work.
Not sure if it was because 4.04 sr1 is not compatible with exchange 2003.
Anyone run into this before? also i have been hearing about the Cobra tool. Think that might be a better bet? i hear it does not copy everything over, such as Class of Service and distribution lists. How do you get around that? do you build the class of service before the import of users?
