I'm having trouble getting one of my clients' analog endpoints to register in CME. There are at least another dozen SCCP analog devices configured and they all seem to work fine. According to the debugs inbound calls are routing appropriately but because the SCCP endpoint isn't registered the port isn't ringing. I seem to have spare DSPs for the port to use. Any ideas? They're running 12.4(22)T and the analog connectivity is provided by an EVM-HD-8FXS/DID with EM-HDA-8FXS daughter cards.

Are the gateways VG224 or VG204?
I've a network with 15 VG204's and the only way I can get them to register was to do a #erase startup-config #reload
I then have a script I push to the VG204 and it registers with CME fine. I'll have access to all the info latter if it helps?

Lee, the ports are all on an EVM-HD-8FXS/DID with EM-HDA-8FXS daughter cards. As far as I know there are no other VGs on site.

Hi Phil,
Try removing all your stcapp configuration and just create a dial-peer voice pots XXX and place the port command in it, along with the extension number.
example.
dial-peer voice pots 999100
description # Analogue Phone 1 #
destination-pattern 2566$
port 1/0/1
As long as your translation patterns are correct an imcoming call will ring the analogue device connected to port 1/0/1
stcapp allows analogue ports to be regsitered to a call control server, Ive only seen this with CUCM, and with failover to SRST/CME in both cases you do have to add extra commands. But give the above a try and should be right to make and receive calls.
Cheers
Ben

Thanks Ben, I'll give it a shot. I thought the SCCP config may be the culprit but with so many other working devices it didn't seem likely. This is definitely the first time I've seen a CME deployment running SCCP on analog devices though so I look forward to testing plain old H.323 either tonight or tomorrow. I'll definitely report back and let you know how it goes though.
Any idea how to figure out which physical analog port this device is attached to? The only reference I seem to have is ephone-dn, ephone, and a virtual dial-peer.
Thanks again!

Hi Phil,
Did you check if the CME Phone capacity got exhausted? I mean, CME supports certain amount of Phones based on the hardware platform, maybe is that you just need to increase the "max-ephone" on telephony-service, or you just ran out of ephone "tags" on CME.

Phone capacity is ok. I ended up using a different port on the voice gateway so I'm still not sure what was going on with the original port. I guess I may never know!
Thanks for all the help though.
