Hi,
I have to upgrade a CCM 4.1 to CUCM 7.1.3. After some tests, a phone 7941(7911 and 7961) can't upgrade her firmware to 8.5(3) or 8.5(2)SR1. The message is "Auth Failed".
If I validate the fimware 8.4(3) for this phone, the phone is enregistred. After this upgrade, if i validate the fimware 8.5(3) for this phone, the phone is enregistred.
The step "Upgrade to 8.4(3)" is required, is this normal?

Yes, this is expected :)
Note For all SCCP firmware upgrades from firmware release versions earlier than 8.3(3) to version 8.5(3) or greater, you must first upgrade your firmware to version 8.5(2). Once you have upgraded to version 8.5(2), you can upgrade your IP Phone to version 8.5(3) or later.

Sometimes it gives "Auth error" when the software on the IP Phone is highere than the one configured in the "Device Defaults"
