Hi Guys,

I just want confirmation of the following steps to install an upgrade within the same major version.

I download the file from the Cisco website ofcourse.

- II start the installation via OS on the publisher and reset the TFTP service on the publisher

- I start the installation via OS admin on the subscriber and reset the TFTP service on the subscriber(s)

- I reboot the publisher but not yet the subscriber to avoid downtime

- I reboot the subscriber once the publisher is fully done

This should do it for upgrade to a minor version step?

Kind Regards,

Hi,

you can upgrade the publisher [do not reboot/do not switch versions]. After that , upgrade subscriber [do not reboot].

After the same is done succesfully, switch over to new version in  Publisher first  and then, do the switch over of subscriber .

use utils system switch version from CLI.

regds,

Agree with Aman [+5], probably typing our responses at the same time :)

Hi,

The versions you have mentioned seem to be a bit incorrect , its probably 8.6.2.22XXX to 8.6.2.25XXX, however the plan for a minor upgrade remains the same.

Install the upgrade file on Publisher, do not switch version

Install the upgrade file on Subscriber(s), do not switch version

Switch version on Pub, let the Pub come up fully

Switch version on the subscriber(s)

Do i have to reset the TFTP services on the pub or sub aswell

It's not like a phone firmware file, where you reset the tftp services that makes the file available.

No need to reset any services, when you do the switch version the system will reboot automatically.
