We have 19 VG202's - some are connected to normal fax machines, others are connected to multi-function devices (large Ricoh/Canon). On Tuesday, we received a call that one was not sending or receiving. We reset the machine and VG202 and it still did not work. We called Ricoh for support and they came out and stated that nothing was wrong with their machine or internal fax board (we have had this issue before) and stated it has something to do with our VoIP system. The next day, anothe call from a different VG202 came in and it was the same issue. Reset machine and VG202 and no go. We know have 3 or 4 VG202's that are very intermittent with working. It seems like every day, one more has problems. I would say they send and receive about 20% of the time. Any ideas on what I can do to troubleshoot and/or correct this issue. One of them is in the big boss office of course. Our engineer configured these and did not give me any procedures or instruction on what to do as he stated once they are configured they are good. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you so much.

Silly question but we had the same issue and a junior engineer made changes to the default values under service parameters and once we made all default our intermittency disappeared.
I assume your dial-peers is correct?

Sorry for the ignorance, but I am not sure what you mean? Do you know what parameter I am looking for and what setting I should have it set to? Thanks so much.

Make sure the values in these service paramaters is default.
Hello Sir,
Thanks for it but cna you clear me few points as go for installation of vg202 and 204 with cucm 8.02 version:
first add vg in cucm as sccp gateway
then configure vg gateway as vg guide with dhcp option using these commands:
1.enable
2.configure terminal
3.interface type slot/port
4.ip address dhcp
5.sccp local interface-type interface-number port port-number
6.ccm-manager sccp local interface-type interface-number
7.ccm-manager sccp
8.voice service voip
9.fax protocol t38 [nse[force]]
10.exit
is it nayhting else that i have to do also incase of dhcp option with cucm ingateway sid eor in router side?
If i go for cucm with vg 202 without use of dhcp then sue these points:
1.enable
2.configure terminal
3.interface type slot/port
4.ip address static ip subnet mask
5.sccp local interface-type interface-number port port-number
6.voice service voip7.fax protocol t38 [nse[force]]
8.ccm-manager sccp local interface-type interface-number
9.ccm-manager config server tftp_ip_address
10.ccm-manager sccp
11.exit
this is haivng in guide as per cisco document:

3.stcapp ccm-group group-id
4.stcapp
5.stcapp feature access-code
6.stcapp feature speed-dial
7.voice-port slot-number/port
8.timeouts initial seconds
9.timeouts interdigit seconds
10.timeouts ringing seconds infinity
11.voice-port slot-number/port
12.ccm-manager fax protocol [protocol cisco]
13.ccm-manager config [server] ip-address name seconds
14.ccm-manager sccp local interface-type interface-number
15.ccm-manager sccp
16.sccp local interface-type interface-number port port-type17.sccp
18.sccp ccm group group-number
19.associate ccm identifier-number priority priority-number
20.dial-peer voice tags pots
21.service stcapp
22.port port-number

Thank you - once I find where these are I will review to see if we have them set properly.

With regards to your response with the two images above, all the settings are the same on my server, except for the "Call Classification" - I have that set to "Offnet", which is the default. I am not sure if I want to change it to "OnNet" since that is not a default parameter. Do you know if this would be the issue? Thanks again for all your assistance.

Leave it offnet we just block offnet transfers.
OK if those settings are default values then is your gateway config correct like the last dial-peer I have posted?
01-13-2014 05:49 AM
I have to review that - being honest, I did nothing with the setup for the VG202's, so I don't even know how to check the configuration on them. I will research and see if I can find out. Thanks again.

capture your config and attached it for me and I will have a look.
01-13-2014 06:00 AM
Without sounding horribly ignorant, I know I capture the config from a command prompt - however, I am not sure what command to use. I know the IP of the VG202's. So sorry for the ignorance. Do you know the command line prompt to capture the config? THANKS!

Thanks - we have 19 so I will remove this on 1 of the VG202's that we are having issues with. Will I be able to tell promptly if it is corrected or do I simply need to test sending and receiving and wait. Briefly, if you can, why am I removing these lines?
Also, I assume if I do this and it does not work properly, I should add these 2 lines back to the config?
Once again, thank you so much for you assistance.
