VG248 Backup and restore

Hi

Does anyone know if a VG248 config can be copied to a laptop and then restored ?

The VF224 is not a problem as it is similar to a router with a CLI but I cannot see a way of doing this on a VG248

Any ideas ?

Thanks.

Re: VG248 Backup and restore

) ftp into the vg248

2) type get user.cfg once you are in there.

3) change the name to something else when on your pc, say to olduser.cfg

Do a "more user.cfg" or "more olduser.cfg" to verify that the config has been pulled

accross.

4) ftp to the new vg248

5) type put olduser.cfg user.cfg.

Or you can Go to Diagnostics --> Show configuration and backup

WOW! I never knew that.

Is this a supported way to backup/restore a VG248?

I also see a user.cfg.xml file. What's that for? Is that created from the cfg file on bootup?
